Acceptance of Terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Clear Trials Solutions, Inc. By using Clear Trials, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.
What Clear Trials Is
Clear Trials is a platform that transforms clinical trial documents into plain-language summaries. We help participants understand their trial materials—whether you're using the platform on your own or through an access code provided by your study site.
What Clear Trials Is Not
- We are not a healthcare provider
- We do not provide medical advice
- We do not replace official trial documents or informed consent
- We cannot answer questions about your specific treatment
- We are not for emergencies. No one monitors Clear Trials around the clock. In a medical emergency, call 911. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988. For urgent problems with your study, use the contact number your study team gave you.

Your Study Team Can See How You Use Clear Trials
When you join through your research site, your study team there can see your name, your email address and how you use Clear Trials. That includes the questions you ask, even ones you remove from your own list, your messages, which documents and guides you open, your onboarding answers, such as how prepared you feel, and anything you write that we flag as a possible safety concern. They use this to support you.
Reports about the study for its sponsor or CRO do not include the name or email address from your account. They can include questions exactly as participants wrote them, so anything you type into a question could appear in a report. If you are flagged as needing extra support, a report can include a short study ID, the date you were last active, and the reasons you were flagged.
If you would rather your study team not see a question, ask it at your next visit instead. Our Privacy Policy lists everything we collect and who can see it.
Your Account
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Clear Trials
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share your access code with others
- Upload documents you don't have permission to share
- Attempt to access other users' information
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
Text Messages
If you opt in, Clear Trials sends visit reminders and study messages by text. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Content and Accuracy
Our simplified summaries and the answers to your questions are generated using AI and are intended to help you understand trial documents. They may contain errors and should not be relied upon as the sole source of information about your trial.
Always read the official documents provided by your study team and ask them questions if anything is unclear.
Intellectual Property
The simplified content we generate is provided for your personal use in understanding your trial. You may share it with people helping you, such as family, caregivers or your doctors, but you may not otherwise redistribute or commercialize it.
Limitation of Liability
Clear Trials is provided "as is." We make no warranties about the accuracy or completeness of our simplified content. We are not liable for any decisions you make based on our summaries.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clear Trials shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; our Privacy Policy explains what is removed and what we keep.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. If we make a material change, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Clear Trials after that, the updated terms apply.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA.
